DE LA FONTAINE Industries designs and manufactures steel doors and door frames. They approached DustShield to help with a printer challenge regarding label printers.
The Opportunity
At one production facility, DE LA FONTAINE applies primer and powder coat paint to their doors and frames. Near the primer application station, they have a label printer to print production labels for customers.
The area is extremely dusty, which resulted in the team needing to clean the printer lens almost daily.
The organization wanted to install four more printers, but they were worried about the possibility that someone would eventually incorrectly clean a printer lens and damage it. So, the DE LA FONTAINE team decided to try out a printer enclosure to see if it would help.

The Proven Results
In the two months following the deployment of their DustShield enclosure, DE LA FONTAINE did not have to clean the printer lens once. This was a huge change from having to clean it every day or so.
In addition, the DustShield enclosure was such a success, DE LA FONTAINE decided to add four more DustShield enclosures to protect their label printers. They also opted for the ingress protection upgrade on all the enclosures, which includes a filter guard to protect against heavy debris and grommets to seal up access ports.
