Organizations rely more and more on TV screens to connect with their team members. Unfortunately, some places, e.g., dusty, smoky or steamy factory floors and warehouses, aren’t ideal for TVs–airborne debris will eventually clog the TV’s vents and result in failure.
DustShield can help.
Let’s take a look at DustShield TV screen enclosure solutions and how they can help organizations enhance team member communications.
TV Screen Enclosure Solutions
Just like printers and other electronics, organizations have found that TVs are most beneficial when they’re in close proximity to the target audience. Since many organizations use TV screens to bolster their internal communications, the ideal location for the screens would be on the shop/warehouse floor, in break rooms or in other areas team members frequent.
Regardless the location, DustShield TV enclosure solutions will protect the TV from airborne dust and impacts, without hindering the TV’s functionality.
Dust Protection
As our name suggests, a DustShield enclosure is designed to keep dust and other airborne debris from getting into the machine and reducing its lifespan.
A DustShield enclosure will completely encapsulate the TV. The only openings are on the sides and bottom. The bottom is specifically for the fan filtration system, which will pull air into the enclosure and circulate it to help cool the TV. The openings on the sides are vents that allow the fan to push out the air.
By putting the filtration system on the bottom face of the enclosure, the DustShield intake is sheltered from settling dust in the air. The system will pull air in from directly beneath the enclosure, i.e., air that is relatively free of fall dust and debris. This also helps extend the filter life.
In addition, the bottom-mounted fan will pull in cooler air into the enclosure, pushing out the warmer air at the top of the enclosure. This helps keep the TV from overheating, while also creating a positive pressure system that helps keep dust from coming in the exhaust vents.
Impact Resistance
Impacts are another concern when deploying TVs throughout a facility, even if the TV isn’t on the shop or warehouse floor. At DustShield, we have provided impact protection for TVs at rest stops, gymnasiums, break rooms, food processing plants and more.
While the standard DustShield TV enclosure comes with a clear acrylic window at the front, our team can upgrade it to unbreakable polycarbonate. That, combined with the tough ABS plastic used for the rest of the shell, will ensure the TV is protected from thrown/flying objects of all shapes and sizes. Plus, if an object somehow breaks the polycarbonate, it won’t shatter into tiny pieces like acrylic or glass, making polycarbonate ideal for food processing facilities.
Weather Resistance
Some organizations need to post TVs outside of the facility to communicate with customers or team members. In that case, a DustShield enclosure will protect the TV from the elements. Organizations should note that due to the positive pressure fan filtration system, DustShield enclosures are water resistant, NOT waterproof. This means that the enclosure needs to be mounted under some sort of protective shelter, like a patio cover or awning. The awning will protect against heavy rains, while the enclosure will then protect against dust, bugs, impact and more.
If the environment will get cold enough to affect the TV, our team can upgrade the enclosure with a thermostat-controlled heater.
Functionality
Today’s TV systems are constantly sending out and receiving signals, such as via a remote to turn it on and accessing Wi-Fi to pull in information. At DustShield, we use ABS plastic to construct every enclosure. Unlike metal, ABS doesn’t shield the machine inside, allowing Wi-Fi, RF and Bluetooth signals to pass through. This means that even in a DustShield enclosure, the organization can still control the TV remotely.
In addition to protecting the TV from dust and debris, DustShield enclosures can make it more convenient to mount the unit. The DustShield TV screen enclosure solution is outfitted with a VESA mount inside. The enclosure can then be mounted on a wall, reticulating arm or virtually any other mounting means the organization chooses.
In the end, the organization can enhance its communications with team members or customers while protecting their electronics and extending their life. If you’d like to learn more, please contact our enclosure specialists at 417.736.3746 or sales1@amprod.us.
